KAYA AND WANJU (HELLO AND WELCOME)

Hello, I’m Leanne from Leanne’s Family Day Care, located in Canning Vale. I’ve proudly been a part of the Canning Vale community since 2004 and established my business at its current location in 2005. Together with my wonderful, supportive husband and our two amazing adult sons—who grew up immersed in the family day care environment—we’ve built a service that feels like home. Our family also includes Winston George, our adorably cheeky cavoodle, who never fails to bring smiles to everyone he meets!

My personal philosophy is to follow a holistic approach that nurtures the whole child. I provide a child-led, play-based program that nurtures exploration, creativity, and development. Activities include messy play, sensory play, nature play, the KIDDO sports program, child yoga and breathwork, and a school readiness program tailored for children preparing for kindergarten. My purpose-built indoor and outdoor environments are designed to foster a sense of ownership while encouraging the development of self-help skills, resilience, and self-confidence.

Inspired by the educational philosophies of Jean Piaget and Urie Bronfenbrenner, I focus on building strong, positive relationships with children and their families. I value each child’s individuality and culture, showing respect through active listening, thoughtful observation, and meaningful collaboration.

I hold diplomas in Early Childhood Education and Care, as well as a University Diploma in Teacher Assistance, ensuring a professional and well-rounded approach to child development.

To make life easier for families, my daily fee includes nappies, wipes, nappy cream, sunscreen, nutritious meals and snacks, and access to a family communication app. For rest and sleep, I provide a warm, calming environment with dedicated spaces, including a separate sleep area for babies that aligns with their home routines.
