ABOUT KATRINA

My name is Katrina, or Kat for short. I am so proud to introduce Evergreen Leaders Atelier to you as my Family Day Care Business.

Children have been a huge part of my life, with my mother running a successful family day care business for 10 years. I think this is where my passion for children started. While the love for children was always there, it wasn’t my first career venture. I hold an Advanced Diploma in Interior Design which saw me working in the field for a many years. From there I went on to become a Real Estate agent, which I enjoyed, but found there was something missing. I finally decided to take the plunge and begin my journey working with children. I can tell you now, I have never been happier. Children are the most joyful little souls in this world and I feel so lucky to have finally found something that I know I was meant to do.

My creative side loves all things art with a big emphasis on our natural environment and sustainable living. This carries through in the way that I like to teach and the methods I use in helping our children learn.

I love setting up warm, inviting and unique experiences that follow the child’s current interests. At such a young age, creativity is such a big catalyst in how children explore and learn and I aim to encourage this through our daily routine and activities.

The past few years I have operated and run Evergreen Leaders Family Day care in Perth, taking some time off to have my two beautiful children. We have now made the move to Dunsborough to raise our family in one of the most beautiful places on earth. It has been my greatest achievement, and I am so proud of what this little business of mine has become. I believe our children deserve the best in education and care and I have found that nothing beats an intimate family setting where children and their needs come first.

I hold my first aid certificate and update my CPR annually, and my Diploma in Early Education and Care. I take the opportunity to be involved in training and professional development wherever possible and I believe that training is paramount when working with children. I am always looking for new ways to teach, enrich and support our children’s learning and development.

Our family comprises of my husband Matt who is the owner and director at Thought Leaders Real Estate, my step-daughter Aria, my daughter Summer and my son Noah. My children have been my inspiration and push to start my journey working with children. I am lucky to have the upmost support and encouragement from them all.
