ABOUT JULEANNE

Hi, my name is Juleanne and I have been running my family day care service since 2007.

In 2016 I was awarded the regional Bunbury and southwest area award for Educator of the Year through Family Day Care Australia.

I’m a local from Busselton, married and a mum to 3 adult children. My highest achievement is an Advanced Diploma in Childcare. I started my pathway becoming qualified as a Teachers Assistant and then felt more that I belonged in Childcare where I worked as a relief Educator in long day care gaining my qualifications and insight into regulations and policies required to follow in childcare before opening up my own family day care business.

My inspiration for creating a child focused environment for play and learning is centered around the Reggio Emilia approach. I’m passionate in offering natural play resources giving the children opportunities to explore and use their imaginations to create their own play. I love to offer art/craft experiences and often we will use resources that are from our natural environment or found around our home to create and explore. I offer a natural designed indoor environment focusing on stimulating children’s learning and exploring. My outdoor space promotes similar play with rubber tyres, ropes, shells, wood and a mud kitchen to get wet and dirty. We watch kangaroos in their natural habitat through the fence and hand feed a variety of visiting birds on a daily basis.

My family day care offers a warm, secure and supportive environment for each individual child’s needs, and where confidence, self identity and self awareness is nurtured to form the foundations of making real friendships, invaluable social and important life skills, and a respectful awareness of our natural environment. I’m dedicated in following the practices and high standards of childcare but my service also offers a warm, relaxed and unhurried environment , understanding that children also need a place where they can learn, are offered choices and can participate if they choose.
